For whatever reason, writing on paper is the most natural thing for me to do. Yes it is way easier to type your thoughts directly to the computer, but there is some connection with the pen hitting the paper and communicating the thoughts that are inside my head. Maybe it’s the personality of the penmanship that gives the words a better look.
The computer typing is standard, dry and sterile, even with the many fonts. Or could it be the mistakes that get crossed out, the inserted lines drawn or the words written sideways outside the margins that make handwriting more of a piece of art rather than a piece of paper with black ink. An old book is nice but with the authors hand written signature is valuable. A typed letter or poem is nice, but a handwritten poem or letter is a collectible.
Thoughts must be expressed written or typed, but the imperfections of misspelled words, scratched out words or fragmented sentences can sometimes give the written expression depth. The thought may not come into existence as perfect and neither is handwritten art. But as we work the wording, arrange the patterns of the thoughts and cross those t’s and dot those i’s, a handwritten master piece can be made.
I write by hand, then I type and sometimes I only type, however, thankful for my options. Every once in a while, let’s just get back to basics. Liv your truth!
